The Emily Carr research culture is a strategically important element of the University.

The Research + Industry Office (RIO) at Emily Carr University is responsible for promoting and assisting with the research activity of the faculty and students at Emily Carr University of Art + design. We strive to develop and support a vibrant culture of research, scholarly activity and creative practice that reflects and celebrates the accomplishments of our community. We are also proud of our partnerships with industry that provide excellent opportunities for faculty and student research.
The Research + Industry Office provides a wide range of services to assist researchers with administration of their research projects, from grant applications and development of industry partnerships to identify funding sources and post-award support. The RIO also provides guidance to ethics compliance and management of grant funds.
