Two Indigenous Artists in Residence
The Artists in Residence program at Stratford Hall offers artist residency opportunities for professionals and emerging artists to work with young people in grades K-12. Stratford Hall is a diverse and inclusive community committed to transforming communities and inspiring, mentoring, and empowering young people through the art-making process. The Artists in Residence program at Stratford Hall is tailored to meet both the specialisation and interests of the artist and the learning needs of the students, with consideration of a legacy element.
This residency is open to artists from the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations, as well as other Indigenous artists as the Witness Blanket encompasses Indigenous stories from across Canada. This residency is ideally suited for someone who would like to work with children in a school setting and feels comfortable working with children between the ages of 5-10 or 11-18.
